  • Model Guidelines for Development and Regulation of Retirement Homes

    The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs released model guidelines for the development and regulation of retirement homes in March 2019. The population share of senior citizens is expected to increase from 8% in 2015 to 19% in 2050, to 34% by the end of the century. With rising income levels, a growing share of senior citizens is choosing to reside in commercially developed and professionally managed facilities known as retirement homes.
