India has established two Defence Industrial Corridors, one in Uttar Pradesh and the other in Tamil Nadu, designed to attract investments in the Aerospace & Defence sector, fostering a comprehensive defence manufacturing ecosystem within the country. Further bolstering this commitment, the Government of India has increased FDI in the Defence Sector, with provisions allowing up to 74% through the Automatic Route for companies pursuing new defence industrial licenses and up to 100% via the Government Route where access to modern technology is promising.
